BE Circuit Tournament hosted by WSBA
Warwickshire run a number of Bronze level Tournaments on the Badminton England Junior circuit, at all age groups namely U11, U13, U15 and U17. Tournaments are run by WSBA volunteers who act as Tournament Secretaries and who are all awesome volunteers providing competitive badminton opportunities to our community.
Tournaments play an important role in the development of junior badminton players and WSBA is committed to providing the opportunity locally for Warwickshire players to enter competitive events with players from within the County and from counties across England, Scotland and Wales, in all disciplines, whether singles, level doubles or mixed doubles. Tournaments also provide a valuable opportunity to raise funds which helps WSBA maintain squad fees as low as possible. WSBA arranges the following types of tournament:
Tournament dates and locations will be included in the calendar, and all BE tournaments are detailed in the Junior section of the BE website. On-line entry is possible for all tournaments through the BE competition pages on their website.
WSBA squad players are encouraged to enter tournaments, especially the Warwickshire JCCs and other Warwickshire tournaments. Squad members are also asked to attend a minimum of 5 BE tournaments each season – West Midlands, Worcestershire, Leicestershire all hold local events as well as Warwickshire, and all surrounding counties, so lengthy travel is not necessary to meet this requirement.
As with all counties, tournaments are only possible because of significant input from volunteers. Each tournament requires a Tournament Secretary to take the player entries, schedule the draws and manage the event on the day, supported by several people to help on the desk with registration and results entry, monitor courts and shuttles, and help keep the event running smoothly.
We are hugely grateful to all volunteers who regularly help at tournaments, and are very keen to have more help.
