Badminton England Affiliation

Warwickshire Schools Badminton Association is affiliated to Badminton England.  This means that we:

• operate under Badminton England's guidance and standards, and adhere to their policies
• benefit from Badminton England's insurance
• provide individual Badminton England registration for each of our members (as part of the WSBA membership fee), enabling them to compete in BE tournaments and inter-county leagues
• run tournaments in Warwickshire on behalf of BE for junior players across England

Badminton England run a significant circuit of junior tournaments each season, located around the county, and comprising bronze, silver and gold standards, at the following age groups: U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19.  WSBA players are encouraged to enter at least three BE tournaments each season, and we organise local tournaments at all age groups to assist this.  A full list of Junior BE Tournaments can be found here, and players/parents are encouraged to review the list regularly as events can change.  Entry for all BE tournaments is online through their website, and players must have a BE Compete registration in order to enter.  WSBA provides this as part of the annual membership and you should receive details automatically from BE.  If you need advice on which tournaments would be appropriate for an individual player, please talk to your Age Group Coach.

Entering Badminton England tournaments offers grading and ranking points.  These provide a measure of a player's standard of performance, and are used by Age Group Coaches to inform team selection for County fixtures, along with other factors.  Information about the grading and ranking systems can be found here.
