WSBA Vacancy - Tournament Co-ordinator
22 Jun 2018
- We are also looking for a new WSBA Tournament Co-ordinator for the 2019/2020 season to replace Paul Harper. (Yes you haven’t misread what I have written – it is for 2019/2020!) Paul Harper who I think everyone in WSBA will know has done a fantastic job in this role for many years and has always gone over and above what is required to organise all of the WSBA Tournaments ready for the Season and recruited all of the Organisers to run the Tournaments on the day. Paul is looking to stand down at the end of 2018/2019 or sooner if we can recruit someone for this more than pivotal WSBA role. The majority of WSBA’s funds are made by the running of all of the BE Tournaments throughout the Season – this also means that top class Badminton players are attracted to the Tournaments WSBA runs and this offers all WSBA players the opportunity locally to play against these players. The more Tournaments we are able to run due to volunteers offering to run them the less fees the players have to pay in Annual Fees it is as simple as that.
- We are looking for someone very organised, able to plan in advance, good at communicating (by email and by phone) with WSBA coaches and with Venues, someone who is flexible and tolerant - however well you plan it does go wrong sometimes! If you think you would be interested in taking on this role – please contact me for further details. Ideally we are looking for someone who will be able to shadow Paul in this role as soon as possible and again as mentioned this is pivotal role within WSBA and if we are unable to appoint a replacement person in this role this will affect all the Tournament’s we normally run.
